Really good cheap food and lots of parking. The staff is friendly and oh my God they have so many soda options
So this is the likely dive bar of burgers . So today I got onion rings , enough for 3 . I got a double ghost pepper burger with every thing . 2 big ass chicken sandwich's and a hotdog . This place is always on point , customer serve off the chain and they treat you like family . Plus like , 200 craft sodas and ales if you need sugar ! Go
The one missing star is partly the parking lot. There is not a lot of room, and if you miss the one driveway, you'll have to circle around to make another attempt. This is important because I went to visit during the week right before sunset. I made the left turn from Cactus to southbound on 35th Ave. The sun was perfectly in my eyes, and there was a bus there, so I totally missed the entrance to parking. Once I did make it to the lot, it was a pretty tight squeeze. Ok, now on to the good stuff. The fact that they let me split a order of sides (half zucchini & half onion rings) is a plus. Side order portions are huge! They both tasted I also got a small italian sub, which tasted fine. However, shredded lettuce on hand-held food is a pet peeve of mine because all it does is fall out. That's exactly what the lettuce in my sandwich did. I got take out, so I was able to grab a fork and eat the lettuce with each sandwich bite, but I would have preferred to have everything handheld and all in one bite. I would order here again, but I would maybe try something different on the menu or order whatever without lettuce. My food was up quick. Pricing on the sides was fair. I think the sandwich was a bit pricey. For those of you who are not diabetic, they also have a giant selection of bottled soda. I guess that's part of the allure of this place....the drink selection.
During my first visit to this restaurant, I found it bustling with activity. After approaching the counter, I paused to look over the menu and decided on the New York Burger with fries. I also chose a peach-flavored pop from the cooler. The burger was exceptionally tasty and satisfying, and the fries were perfectly prepared. It was a fantastic meal overall. Although I craved ice cream, I was simply too full, but I'll definitely return to try it. New York Burger with fries - A+
I wish we knew about this place sooner! Some of the best burgers we've had in the city! My husband had the rocket burger, I had the Santa Fe and we shared the chili cheese fries. Everything was delicious. Service was so fast! The restaurant has so many coolers with different types of soda from all over the country! We were excited to find some of our hard to find favorites.
The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is quite good! It doesn't look like much from the outside. Honestly, it doesn't look great on the inside either, even though it IS clean. But surprisingly, I did enjoy the burger I shared with my son and I liked the selection of sodas they had inside the store itself. So if not for the ambiance of the restaurant, it would have had a full 5 stars.
Small space, killer food with great drinks. Service, on point. No hassle,easy. Burger,fries,and a drink. The fries were perfect. The burgers, same. The sauce, same again. I have to go back and try more of the food. They have a ton of different sodas, and a soda fountain station with unique selections.
This burger was incredible. Cooked perfect with a soft bun, delicious sauce, and quality pastrami stacked on top. I was in heaven! Dare I say the best burger I've had in Arizona yet? It might not be an over the top "Instagram" pic burger, but it was absolute perfection. Fries were tasty too. The entire family enjoyed their food. The soda options were fun too. We would definitely come back!
First time visit to Rocket Burger and Subs and from the outside it looks a little rough. The inside was no different and definitely in need of a make-over. Huge craft soda collection if that's your thing. Don't let appearances scare you away. The Afterburner burger was excellent. It was not as spicy as advertised even with fresh jalapeños. Onion rings were fresh not frozen and ranch sauce was good. Fried zucchini and chicken bites had a salty breading but still hit the spot. If in the area and looking for an old fashioned burger give them a try. Honestly the Afterburner Burger might be the best burger I have had in Phoenix!
